Lonely Lonar and Lovely Nomads.

It wasn’t just a trip on the two two-wheelers but a paradise explored through the whole journey. 4 o’ clock in the morning when the birds start chirping we 3; Neil, me and Vivek left Pune with a high spirit towards the final destination called “Lonar” the only meteorite crater in india. The route was through Ahmednagar- Aurangabad- Buldana- Lonar. The checkpoints were Ellora caves, Aurangabad city, Ajanta caves and finally the crater “Lonar’.

The first day was all an energized biking towards the Ellora caves; beautifully carved sculptures of Lord Buddha and Indian deities on the caves 30 kms away from the city of Aurangabad. A spellbinding retreat was the awesome spirituality explored on the spot. A total 7hours of biking had left us not exhausted for long walks and admiration of the ancient stone carvings.

The evening seemed to be much more beautiful watching the lilies bloom in front of Bibi-ka maqbara at Aurangabad. The delicious samosa and bhajia at Gulmandi market place was of more refreshing than the touch of the first rain drops.

Second day begun with another stretch towards the Ajanta caves at around 7 o clock in the morning. The paintings and the sculptures in the caves were aesthetic enough to make one fall in love with the culture and art existed 100years back in the country. Finally the cool water of the waterfall absorbed all the body pains to make us ride again towards Lonar.

And 10 o clock at night we touched Lonar. The hunt for a decent lodge in the small country town ended with a mere disappointment. Whatever, we had just to close our eyes for the night to open them to take a look at our final destination and my source of lost energy. The next sunrise wasn’t our cup of tea at the foot steps of the huge crater but somehow we managed to get there after waking up late by 7 o’ clock. Concluding the final clause and kissing the foot hills of the crater was a mammoth job as we had to trek down to touch the water source and then to climb up to the heaven sweating like the monsoon rain.
By 10:30 we had to leave for Pune; a 400km ride as the time limit was knocking the door. Stops, rests, back pains, numb bums, never ending roads and evaporating enthusiasm finally got cooked together to touch Pune by 11 o clock at night.

OH! It was not less than a feeling of orgasm.
We were tired, exhausted, tanned but were all satisfied with the pain.
